Debt Retirement Challenge Grant Incentive
Challenge Grant funds are contingent upon Camp Mountain Chai successfully raising gifts and pledges toward the $2 million needed to retire the debt in its entirety.

Friends and supporters have an exceptional opportunity to increase the impact of their support of Camp Mountain Chai by taking advantage of a special Challenge Grant incentive for the retirement of the camp's private debt.

The Galinson Family Challenge Grant Initiative
The Galinson family has generously established a two part Challenge Grant initiative as an incentive to the debt retirement portion of the overall campaign:

Part I – The Galinson Family will match the first $250,000 raised with an additional $250,000 thereby reducing the debt by $500,000.

Part II – The Galinson Family will provide an additional $200,000 contingent upon Camp Mountain Chai's raising $425,000 in donated and pledged support thereby further reducing the debt by $625,000.

The combined impact of Part I and Part II of the Galinson Family Challenge Grant program is that $675,000 in donated support will retire a total of $1,125,000 in real debt.

Matching Grant Opportunity
Matching Grant funds are provided for new donor gifts of $10,000 or more in support of capital improvements.

The Grinspoon Institute for Jewish Philanthropy, a program of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, has included Camp Mountain Chai in its matching grant program for Jewish residential summer camps' capital improvements. The Grinspoon Institute pursues its mission of strengthening the long-term effectiveness and economic vitality of Jewish nonprofit overnight camps.

The Grinspoon matching grant program is at a ratio of 1:3 ($1 matched for every $3 raised by Camp Mountain Chai) for new donor gifts and pledges of $10,000 or more for capital improvements. The maximum match by the Grinspoon Foundation is $25,000 for donations of $75,000 or more, with total matching funds capped at $100,000.

The Grinspoon Matching Grant program is an opportunity for donors to increase the impact of their contribution by an additional 33% - a donation of $75,000 represents a total of $100,000 in funds for Camp Mountain Chai. The Grinspoon program ends on January 30, 2009 and is applicable exclusively to capital projects.

Camp Mountain Chai is an IRS designated 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization, tax ID#91-2150831. Donations and support are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
